Hot take: Mustang isn't as good as people say

The Porsche 911 owner community has a reputation for being difficult. I'll grant that some of the technical elitism exists. But the community knowledge base is extraordinary. If you post a specific, detailed question about a specific year and model, you will get a specific, detailed answer from someone who has done that exact job.

The books help too. The factory workshop manual is indispensable. Stoddard and Pelican Parts have written guides that supplement the factory documentation. For pre-1975 cars, the independent community knowledge base has outgrown the official literature.

Get into the Porsche community prepared to learn. Bring humility and specifics. You'll find what you need.
