The Triumph TR6 deserves a separate appreciation post from the rest of the British roadster conversation because it's a genuinely different car. The TR4 and TR5 were light, tossable, communicative. The TR6 is bigger, more powerful, and more comfortable — almost a GT car in British roadster clothing.
The Lucas fuel injection on the late cars is a source of complaints that are mostly unwarranted. A properly maintained Lucas PI system is reliable and delivers better performance than the carbureted equivalent. The complaints come from deferred maintenance and the assumption that modern EFI experience should apply.
Find a rust-free California or Arizona car. They exist. The IRS at the rear is excellent. The engine is strong and long-lived. This is an underrated car approaching its appreciation moment.
