The definitive guide to chrome plating vs powder coating on trim
My experience at the annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals taught me that the street rod community and the muscle car community are closer in culture than either side typically acknowledges.
The street rods — traditional '32 Fords and Deuce coupes and the like — represent the same values as a muscle car restomod: original sheet metal with modern mechanicals, period-correct appearance with contemporary performance capability. The difference is in how many decades of modification separate the original design from the current configuration.
The vendor halls are worth the price of admission alone. The parts, accessories, and services available at the Nationals exceed what you'll find at any muscle car event. And the culture of sharing knowledge and helping newcomers is something the classic car hobby does exceptionally well.
