My experience with heat-resistant paint in an engine bay

My experience buying and restoring a 1967 Pontiac GTO in original color — Burgundy with a black bench seat interior — because original color combinations get less attention than the popular options.

The car was delivered in a color that wasn't one of the glamour choices. Original owners who wanted Burgundy Pontiacs ordered Burgundy Pontiacs. The combination is correct and period-appropriate, but at a show it doesn't draw the same crowd as a Monacco Yellow or Royal Bobcat tribute.

I've come to prefer this. My car gets attention from people who know what they're looking at. The conversations are better. The show field is less competitive at the local level for non-glamour colors. And the car is correct.
