Calisthenics and cardio: how to combine them without burning out
Training Without Equipment While Traveling
Travel doesn't have to break your training. Here's what I do when I'm away from home without access to any equipment.
Push category: push-up variations (standard, wide, narrow, archer, decline, pike), dips between chairs or furniture, pseudo planche push-ups. Five variations of push-ups, programmed with proper volume, is a complete pushing session.
Pull category: find a park, playground, or outdoor bar. Almost every town has one. If truly none exist, towel rows under a door are a legitimate horizontal pull. Ring rows on a tree branch with travel rings.
Legs: pistol squats, shrimp squats, split squats, box jumps from available furniture. Single-leg work requires no equipment and is genuinely challenging.
Core: hollow body holds, plank variations, leg raises on a floor, pike compressions. Ten minutes of core work requires nothing but the floor.
Skill: handstand against any wall. L-sit on any pair of chairs or a bed frame. Planche lean on any flat floor. None of this requires a gym.
The only thing travel takes away is a bar for hanging work. Everything else is available with creativity.
