Finally got into pull-up and I'm hooked
Starting Out: My Recommended Routine Experience
I started bodyweight training six months ago with zero background in gymnastics or strength training. The RR wiki page looked intimidating at first — so many progressions, so many acronyms — but once I actually dug in, the structure made sense.
The biggest thing I learned is that the movement progressions are there for a reason. You're not regressing by doing pike push-ups instead of HSPU. You're building the shoulder stability and compression strength that the harder movement demands. Skipping that is how people hurt themselves.
After six months I can do 10 clean pull-ups, 5 dips with good depth, and I'm holding a 10-second tuck L-sit. Nothing impressive, but I have zero pain and genuinely look forward to training. That feels like the right start.
