My experience with push-up after a few weeks
What I Learned After a Year of Daily Movement Practice
A year ago I committed to moving every single day — nothing prescriptive, just daily movement of some kind. Here's what I learned that surprised me.
The biggest surprise was how rarely I wanted to skip once the habit was established. The decision fatigue of 'should I train today' disappeared. The answer was always yes — the only variable was what I'd do and for how long.
The second surprise was how much informal movement contributed to my formal training. Daily walking, mobility flows, and play improved my handstand balance and pistol squat control more than I expected. The nervous system needs consistent reinforcement, not just scheduled sessions.
What didn't work: trying to maintain a structured program every day. Some days need to be exploratory and light. Treating every session as a training session leads to fatigue and boredom. The best daily practice alternates between focused training days and movement exploration days.
After a year, I train 4 days structured and do something light the other 3. The habit is stable, the progress is real, and I genuinely enjoy it.
