Lightning's Swift Strike rewards instant-gratification play. A Spread of Rampant Green is genuinely strange and requires comfort with indirect influence. Vital Strength of the Earth is the baseline for new players.

The Promo Pack spirits add interesting design experiments. The Jagged Earth spirits — Lure of the Deep Wilderness, Many Minds Move as One, Shifting Memory of Ages — are among the most mechanically distinctive in the game. Starlight Seeks Its Form is perhaps the most complex spirit design and rewards mastery.

For new players, I recommend Earth and Lightning, then branching out to Shadows Flicker Like Flame and Keeper of the Forbidden Wilds. Save the stranger designs — Rampant Green, Ocean's Hungry Grasp — for players who have fully internalized the core game loop.
