The birds in the Asia expansion represent East and Southeast Asian species with the same illustrative quality as the earlier expansions. The card abilities are generally more complex than base game birds, which makes the Asia expansion better suited to experienced players.

For groups that want Wingspan at larger player counts, Asia solves the five-player maximum problem of the original. For groups that want a cooperative Wingspan experience, the duet mode is worth exploring. For groups happy with the existing expansions, Asia is an optional addition rather than an essential one.
