Wingspan's most replayable quality is the bird card variety. With 170 base birds, 81 European expansion birds, 95 Oceania birds, and additional birds from other expansions, the probability of seeing the same bird combination repeatedly is low even across many plays. Each session surfaces different card interactions.
The bird artwork is so strong that even birds I have seen many times feel fresh because the illustration creates a specific feeling. The Bald Eagle card is different from the Osprey card beyond their game mechanics. The illustrative diversity ensures no two birds feel like reskins of the same design.
For players who have owned Wingspan for two or more years: mix expansions if you are not already. The card pool interaction across expansions creates combos that no single expansion surfaces. The culled card pool of mixed expansions feels genuinely different from any individual expansion experience.
